the Parthenogenesis oil painting of mine was bought and is exhibited in The Vorres Modern Art Museum, in Athens, Greece
It is one of my favorites
Tassos
Parthenogenesis in Greek means virgin birth... Parthenos is virgin, birth is genesis....
One meaning is self evident... The statue breaks and the horse in live form breaks free... Freedom... and what other creature can put that to image than a horse, breaking the statue, the mold, breaking free in full gallop?
that is the first meaning, mind you... As in all real surrealistic works there are many explanations...for example the old is giving birth to new... Virgin birth etc... Whatever speaks to you...

If there could be an artistic creation to illustriously convey the power and concept of breaking free, it would definitely be Parthenogenesis by =anubis. It is worth every moment to allow absorption of the meticulously crafted details, all of them bearing significance to the visual orchestration as a whole. Please enjoy! I must say, I personally find this an amazing peice of artwork. The detail is spectacular, it all looks so real. The artist did a brilliant job on the lighting and texture. I can't believe this was painted. I love the feirce expression of the horse and the way the horse is breaking out of the satue. To me, it shows the message 'Breaking free from the mold'. But this can be interpretted in many ways, which is what I love about art like this. This peice has visionary impact and design, I wish I could say more about it.
