Oppression.... Or The Despot... Oil on Canvas Just a scenario... Or the first story... ( There are many - as in all surrealist paintings ) The oppression of woman by the despot man, a concept imprinted many times to our innocent infant minds - like the infancy of the child who is interested in fishing, disregarding the spectacle in front of him...

How could I have missed this one... its wonderful... youre so good. Happy theres always more to return to, even if you dont get the time to paint much these days.
First of all, I give my hat to you for mixing surrealism with a sociopolitical standpoint.
Second of all, I like the many contrasts, twists and turns this painting takes. For example, it is quite obvious that the child represents education or learning. He might be influenced by the giant dictator/solider/despot (which symbolizes imperialism) and his actions against the laid, yet sexually ecstatic woman (which symbolizes the exploitation of women in our modern age).
Third of all, the variety of colouring is impressive and quite unorthodox for such a message.
First the blue/red sea and sky doesn't look as realistic as the rest of the painting, reminds me of 70's artwork or fantasy paintings (usually with a Unicorn etc.,).
Also there's alot going on with the left, nothing on the right except white...
The way the woman floats (no shadow) as well as the interaction with the statue man doesn't work out for me...they don't interact together, like they were stuck on with collage.
I probably would of left the woman out, placing the man on a rock (or hover with a shadow) and save the nude woman for another painting.
How big is this piece? A bit of a rip of Dali's painting, but this one is good too. Actually I'm making a similar painting to this too, I'll post it later.
Happy theres always more to return to, even if you dont get the time to paint much these days.
Always yours

There is not parthenogenesis in Art, consciously or unconsciously we are all impregnated of the past...
